Midpoint Privacy Policy
Effective 16 July 2026
Midpoint is operated by Jonah Ramchandani. This policy explains how Midpoint handles information when you use the iOS app.
Information Midpoint processes
Midpoint processes the London postcodes you enter so it can compare journey times and identify fair meeting areas. If you choose to use your device location, Apple’s location services and geocoding are used to fill in your postcode. Precise device coordinates are not sent to the Midpoint API.
The production service may process technical information such as IP address, request time, submitted postcodes, response status, and diagnostic information in operational server logs. This information is used to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
How information is used
- To calculate journey times and fair meeting areas
- To find and display nearby pubs and transport connections
- To operate, secure, diagnose, and improve the service
Accounts, advertising, and tracking
Midpoint does not require an account. It does not sell personal information, display targeted advertising, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
Service providers and data sources
Midpoint relies on service providers and public-data services to operate, including Railway for API hosting, postcodes.io for postcode geocoding, Transport for London for journey information, Google services for venue information, photographs, and some directions, and Apple Maps for maps and directions. Those providers may receive technical information such as your IP address when their services are contacted and process it under their own privacy policies.
Automated tools may analyse public venue information and reviews to produce venue attributes and summaries. User postcodes are not used for that analysis.
Retention
Midpoint does not create a user profile or store a search history in an account. Operational logs may be retained for a limited period according to hosting, security, and troubleshooting needs. Cached venue and journey data is organised around locations and venues rather than individual users.
Your choices
You can deny or revoke location access in iOS Settings and continue using Midpoint by entering postcodes manually. You may contact us to ask questions about privacy or request deletion of information that can reasonably be identified as yours.
Children
Midpoint is designed to help people find pubs and contains frequent references to alcohol-related venues. It is not directed to children.
Changes
This policy may be updated as Midpoint changes. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
